  • Posture-Children have a tendency to slouch and sink down into their seats. They spend the better part of their school hours on relatively uncomfortable chairs and desks so it’s vital to ensure they maintain good posture. The slouch can force the spine to form an uncomfortable and unnatural curve and that’s not healthy. It’s a good idea to take your child to a chiropractor who’ll show them the right posture and how to sit comfortably without causing any strain to the back.
  • Warm-Ups-Proper warm-ups are essential for children who participate in sports or any kind of physical activity. It’s a good idea to incorporate warm-up exercises or stretches in your child’s daily routine because it will keep their body flexible and make sure that they don’t pull or strain anything. Your chiropractor can recommend stretches or exercises appropriate for children of various ages.
  • Backpacks-Backpacks are a menace, especially if they’re not worn properly. The added weight on the shoulder can put pressure on the spine and lead to problems later in life. It doesn’t help that most students just place their bag strap on one shoulder instead of both. This can disrupt the body’s balance and have an impact on the child’s posture. It’s important to discuss the weight and the proper method of wearing a backpack with your children.
